Preferably ones that last for a moderate amount of time, with an inseam between 2.5 and 3", and non-distressed styles [do I sound too picky? whoops ;)].

I’m a poor student of course, so I’d like to spend in the $10-20 range but would be willing to pay around $30 for a really good pair.

These DIY shorts in this post were my favorite but they’ve finally bit the dust :(

For reference, I’m only 5’1" and size 0. I live near Monterey, California if the city rings a bell to anyone.

Thanks for your help!

My F21 are actually really nice quality for the cost. Also, try department stores? They have insane sales. I got a cheap pair at JCPenney a while ago.

I second the Old Navy, my summer shorts are from there. Or you could DIY some old jeans, I do that when I want longer shorts.

Salvation Army or Savers! That’s where I bought all my shorts … but granted, I like mine high waisted and super short. So maybe we aren’t compatible.

Definitely Forever21! They have really good shorts that are around $15
for even cheaper diy ones, just find an old pair of jeans that you don’t want, or are too short or something, and just cut them!

H&M or check out Zara sales when they’re on.. You get the quality for cheap ;) Or you can try buying a pair from a charity shop and cutting them up yourself… It’s quick, dirt cheap and quite fun and rewarding! x

PacSun has some really good sales, also i think American eagle jeans are very good quality and have the inseam you are looking for. If you are certain of your size, online from Swell dot com or Killerdana dot com. I have ordered from both and are excellent at service and exchanges – summer stuff is on sale
