Should I Buy TOMS Shoes?

I have a pair of TOMS and i’m in college. I’m no hipster either, but they are so comfy, great for walking around in and running somewhere quickly. I’ve had mine for a year and they are still in great condition. I’m probably going to buy another pair soon!

i want to buy a pair also! i think it’s a great alternative to wearing sneakers or flats. it’s a good in between. it may not be th chicest shoes…but you can definitely make them work into a look.

Yeah, I’ve heard they wear out pretty quickly. They’re only light canvas, after all. They also don’t offer a lot of support or protection for your feet!

No item is exclusive to a specific fashion style. So, I agree with previous posters. Go for it! Also, I own a pair of tom wedges. They are very comfy, give them a try too!

Thanks for all your advice. It was either the BOBs or TOMs, however BOBs is a total copycat. I know that fashion is basically “copied” by everybody but don’t go too exact.

TOMs are overpriced-they cost about $3 to make and are marked up at 1000% up because they supposedly help kids in Africa. However, the owner of the company is a hardcore Evangelical Christian so the company only supports religious institutions in Africa. I would just buy a cheap pair that looks the same, I doubt the quality is much different.

I fell terrible saying this, but I hate Toms! They are so overworked, to the point where in my opinion, there is no possible way to wear them. Buy a pair of converse instead!

If you want to, then buy them. Don’t worry about what other people think.

I’m reading this post mostly because I, too, am looking into buying TOMS. I have heard mixed reviews but all I know is that many of my friends own multiple pairs and gush about them, so perhaps it comes down to individual preference.

I like that they donate to charity?

i wouldn’t. i’ve bought about three pairs so far and they wear out so fast.

I absolutely love TOMS! They are really meant for a great cause and they are comfy. I wear them with everything and for everything. I had a pair that I literally wore everyday and it took them exactly a year to wear out, but I even wore them still because I like that worn out look they make. I say definitely try out a pair.

I love mine but they wear out fast and they stink.

Toms are super comfortable, but VERY overpriced for what they are..I think they should be $29.99 for the classic toms.
