Wallaby shoes?

I noticed over the past month or so that a particular type of shoe (and I’m not sure how to put an image on here or I would) known as a “Wallaby shoe” (think tan old-man shoes in the shape of a box with a 2-3 inch wedge) has gotten absolutely HUGE at my school… In my opinion, they’re ridiculously ugly. My friends from other schools in the area haven’t seen any there, so my question is: are these a huge trend everywhere, or is it local? And what is your opinion of these shoes?
