Hello Chictopians!
I’m a 16 year old ( I know I’m still a kid )from WI and has somehow fell into the fashion hole.
I was always interested in drawing and clothes but I never took it seriously. But now, as I have sto start looking at the future I think I would do a decent job in Fashion Design.
So I was wondering
if you take a look at my designs on my page
could you give me

1)ADVICE ON COLOR/CLOTHING ETC.
2)A DESIGNER I SHOULD LOOK UP TOO (I can’t find one I really like….)
3) ANYTHING ELSE??

Hahahahaha. Thanks a lot though, it will be much appreciated!

With love,

First thing is to take some art classes, learn some basics about proportion, color, value, etc. After that, start developing basic croquis (a figure ~10 heads tall) that you’ll use as a template for clothing. Realize, though, that fashion illustration has nothing to do with actual designing. To learn how to make clothes, you’ll need basic construction skills (hand sewing, machine sewing) and learn how to draft patterns and create toiles.

Start working, building a portfolio, and practicing. Depending on whether you want to illustrate or design or photograph, you’ll want to hone those skills and try and get work as an assistant/intern/whatever.
