Balmain quilted leather skirt

okay this goes out to all the diy’ers out there… question.. so i have this black high waisted leather skirt from h&m… the one with the buttons that basically everyone has.. but anywhoz ive been dabbling in the world of diy and i was wondering if it could be as simple as sewing a quilted pattern on the skirt… if thats even possible… what do ya’ll think? i may try it and post pics if i do…. picture of the balmain below:
