Hi All,

I have an online shop selling jewellery (stonethemoon.com) and I have tried and tried to get a completely white background on the product photos and have pretty much failed with every attempt. I photo products in a light tent on a white background which is lit from the outside, with a higher exposure on my camera and the photos still turn out with a grey or coloured tint. I edit them using Gimp and adjust the levels and contrast and colour balance and the background still isnt completely white.

Can anyone help me with this as its driving me mad! How do you get a completely white background on product pics??

Thanks!

Kayte

Photoshop usually does a good job with adjusting levels. Here’s a good tutorial on how you can get this white background. Good luck!

If you use a DSLR you can set the white balance using a grey card. Here’s an informative tutorial on how to use one. :) http://digital-photography-school.com/get-your-white-balance-right-in-seconds-using-grey-card
