Backlit photos are easy to do in a portrait studio. You can also try standing right in front of the sun… lol

Make sure you use a lens cap to reduce flare – and shoot when the sun is within about 90 minutes of setting.

With backlit photos, exposure is something you need to pay attention to. Because the source of light is coming from behind you, it’s easy for your outfit to come out too dark. You want a higher shutter speed and a high aperture. Fine tune the two to figure out what looks good to you, but those are two numbers you want to pay attention to when fighting shadows. Good luck!
