Question for you fellow fashionistas…

What websites do you think are the best for download/finding music? Also, do any of you create playlists online, and if so…where?

My favorite for downloading is Mediafire. And for new music when I’m in the mood to be enlightened, I love the pinboardblog.com

I go to bandcamp.com to purchase some $5 worth of EP albums from underground artists, sometimes there are chances of free downloads too depending on some musicians and artists. It’s actually nice that they actually provide sound quality options. If I only want one song from an album or a single, I just head over to itunes. Otherwise, I still buy albums from my local record store for hard copies. :)

Grooveshark is a nice place to listen to songs online— I use that place to sample. It’s kind of like imeem.

I basically read The Pitchfork blog for music news.

For downloading I usualy go to mediafire and 4shared.com. I love the soundtrack of my favorite movie, and I looking the song in the website. Not only for downloading, but you can share whatever-song, doc, pics, vid,etc-from the websites.

for new inspiration “[www.wearehunted.com]”; is great.
it’s a website that compiles the top 100 songs the internet is talking about right now – the songs aren’t what you think! some great obscure gems.

“[www.stereomood.com]”; is a great website too, which creates playlists according to your mood and current activity.

hunting for new music is great on lookbook.nu music forums and chictopia music forums.

My absolute favorite site for discovering new music as well as sharing my own playlists is 8tracks.com. You can create playlists of your own music, and it’s excellent for learning of new and emerging artists through others playlists. My own 8tracks is 8tracks.com/didgeridoo, and I also run a music tumblr at baralyssna.tumblr.com

My favorite music blogs is an extremely long list however, as I have multiple for various genres. Here is the shortened version.

thesmokingsection.com
hypem.com

create a last.fm account and download the plugin—it connects to your itunes and records what you played. you can match it up with similar artists, or people with similar tastes :). It also has a radio similar to pandora.

I haven’t used it since I got my new laptop like a year ago, but I liked it when I had it—hopefully it hasn’t changed much since..
