she posts pictures of other people including other Chictopians without labeling them as inspirational and she gets points for that. This is prohibited but she hasn’t been kicked off the site and this is on my last nerve.
Weird that they haven’t responded to you. There are a lot of people who do that, though, and I think maybe if they’re a bit overwhelmed.

Please don’t repeat the Style Icon fashions in the regular Style Gallery, Save that for people who aren’t fashion icons yet and let’s vary it up a bit folks. WE all have our days and not just the same 10 people can be in the sTyle Gallery all the time.
I don’t really mind either. They have great style, of course. I do agree that there needs to be more of a variety and provide a broader opportunity for others to become Style Icons (:

For some people, dreams are messages from a god they worship and some view them as nothing of any significance at all. From analyzing and interpreting my dreams for so many years, I’ve come to the conclusion that about 95% of my dreams are more like film features from my subconscious. Things I may be avoiding, people I may be worried about…suppressed desires, true emotions, fears…etc [i hate emotions. too sticky for me. This is why I think that what I feel, comes to me in dreams bc I avoid how I feel in day to day life. I think my way through EVERYTHING]. Funny thing is, I’m well aware of how I feel. I just dont always address it. I think my dreams are there for emphasis.
A dream is a dangerous, enlightening, puzzling, comedic, conscious, subliminal state of mind. If youre anything like me, pay attention :~)
I barely can handle my 1st mind lol

Am I allowed to write negative (not mean) comments on pictures?
If it’s constructive, but if it’s just a bashing or a rude comment, then leave it in your head.

It’s been cool to see the different trends that people aren’t a fan of in the rant thread, but I also want to know what trends are your favorite at the moment. I love the high waist bottoms/ cropped top combo going on. This is one of my fave crops.
maxi skirts/dresses
absurd sunglasses

I hate giving people a vote for something they downloaded from the internet but how do I know if it is inspirational or a picture of them. sent the message to feedback but they never answered me and I am annoyed about that. I want to know.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It used to say at the bottom of the pic whether it’s inspiration or personal style, but they seem to have removed that. I’ve found that people will upload a picture from another blogger as “personal style”, which is basically copyright infringement, but it’s hard to tell sometimes. If the user has a bunch of pictures of different people, that look is probably not their own! It drives me nuts, too.

It is difficult for new members to become popular on sites such as this, and so it’d be great if all of us newcomers come together and help each other out! If you vote/favorite/fan me or one of my pictures it would be greatly appreciated! I and the other viewers of this forum will also try our best to help you out.
^^^absolutely agree with that. It’s kind of a – luck of the draw – type thing. Either your look gets picked up right away from the opening page, or it kind of fades into oblivion.
By the way Leonie – dang girl such a cutie

I can’t seem to wrap my head around this. I encountered someone today that hated something and didn’t know why. Hate is just such a strong emotion that I can’t see how it could form without any reason at all.
Or maybe this is bothering me so much because I believe so firmly that everything happens for a reason. I don’t know.
What do you guys think?
I feel like people use the terms “love” and “hate” without really thinking twice. I wonder why we take the emotion out of such strong words such as those…

On my sign? I know it was stolen bc I saw it where all the complex’s mailboxes are at, I went to tutor a student for an hour (so couldn’t bring package with me), an hour later I come home and the package is gone. It was sent via usps. I want to put up a sign, bc I am so mad! My friend said to write “return my package! Karma is a bitch” Bc she got her iphone (stolen at the gym) back tgat way. But 1. I won’t be allowed to put up a sign w the b word on it where I live 2. If I write karma is a b/tch wouldn’t some smart ass say “that’s why your stuff got stolen”? So what to write?
chances are, if it got stolen you’re probably not getting it back. only way to tell is if you see the bitch wearing your clothes loll
if you’re going to write a sign that is angry/passive-aggressive/snarky/etc., you might end up annoying the person who stole it, and that certainly wouldn’t help. you could write something like:
“Package addressed to #205 disappeared yesterday—PLEASE return to the mailroom or leave it outside my door, no question asked!”

I ask the question because I am definately the wrong side of 30 by a long way. Every magazine I pick up, every blog post I read is aimed at a young market. Even my own blog is aimed at a young market, Hell if I wore some of the clothes I feature on my blog, my friends and family would have me committed ! Clothes for women of my age are so boring ! I wonder what people on here think and have they ever seen blogs that are for the (ahem) mature woman What do you think?
No,it isn’t.

do you think that it’s ok…that people copy and paste the same comment to a bunch of people over and over for the entire day.
i’ve just noticed this today.
is something like this against the rules or something?
i think it defeats the purpose of this site that’s just my opinion
I do leave comments only on the pictures that I really admire and have a sincere compliment for. It’s not okay to copy and paste comments.

For those of you who are against all mainstream, stereotypes and what you deem “unoriginal” keep this in mind: “Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery – celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from – it’s where you take them to.”
? Jim Jarmusch
Sometimes it isn’t originality that makes us shine, but what we can do with the exposure we are given and the things we know.
Great quote – really got me thinking :)

What’s something that drives you nuts on blogs? Or something that bloggers do?
For me, I hate posts that have too many photos. 23 pictures of one outfit? Honestly? Keep ’em short and sweet!
Oh gosh, I know what you mean. Specifically, when the posted pictures exceeds over five photos with slightly different poses with the same background. None of those pictures don’t have close-ups, details, or back view shots. Fortunately, most of my favorite bloggers has good judgement in posting their pictures to the point readers can understand their intent.
I can understand bloggers with stores showing different angles of their outfits— but usually, we know sellers are good with variation in outfit pictures vs. thousands of pictures of one outfit in barely different poses.
I would say this is it for me. :D

I’m just curious to know you guys all first heard of Chictopia. I remember I was on Tumblr looking at cool photos and I stumbled upon a picture of a style blogger. I clicked on it and it led me to Chictopia. I’ve been active on this site eversince. I wish more people knew about it. :)
I found Chictopia while I was on Google trying to find a kind of shirt I was looking for. Then it led me to one of the pages of a Chictopian.

I am totally in love with the new Chictopia app. It’s good that I can scroll through inspirational images on the go. It’s pretty easy to use too. I think they have an upload feature now, I never upload pictures of myself but I can see this as being really useful for fashion bloggers.
What do you think of the new app?
I don’t have an iphone sadly. I feel out of the loop :(

So there are the people on here who have a style and it is a nice style as they get tons of votes but it is basically the same style in every post. Same sunglasses, some hat, same Jeffrey Campbell spiked shoes, same ripped stockings and all they do is change from a black sheer dress with crosses on it to a black non sheer dress with crosses on it. And they do it over and over and each time they get at least 200 votes.
or do you admire the person that transforms themselves with ease one day from country bumpkin, to rock star, to hippie, to city slicker??
Hmm, on the one hand I can see how it’s cool for some people to have a signature look, but on the other hand it’s also good to play with different looks and be creative with your clothes and accessories. I suppose I can’t say I really admire – or approve or disapprove of – anyone’s style in particular because I know that style is personal.

It’s traditional to think about all the things you’re thankful for during the holidays, but really it’s something you should do all the time. So what are you thankful for?
I’m thankful for family, true love, and being where I belong.

How can one delete / edit a review they’ve written on chictopia? I realized a spelling mistake too late and would like to upload a photo but it’s problematic!
oh, duh. I forgot about that tab. I’m sorry, but I am probably not going to be much help as I’ve never written a review! You might try emailing the site or asking the question over here on the feedback page.

Ughh! I’ve been procrastinating way too much!
You guys have any good studying/school organization tips?
I’m entering my 2nd year of college in 2 weeks.
I feel like a total wreck. I’m not prepared at all! I’m so disorganized and my stuff is all over the place!
on any day you have free time, use that time to quickly clean your room, i don’t just mean stuffing your closet, but take a quick 30 min each day to clean a certain section of the room! Also, use your time wisely, don’t just go out and party with friends or eat out, instead just stay home and cook yourself, it much more healthier plus its cheaper and can be quicker. You can use that time to clean or do your hw!

This is driving me crazy! Here in central Texas we WERE blessed with warm weather up until this week, however advertisement upon advertisement never seems to reflect the winter everyone should be starting to feel here in the Northern Hemisphere. I get that we aren’t always outdoors, but no one wants to suffer through a parking lot or a walk down the street in bare legs.
Every once in awhile I see photos for winter that are actually practical, leggings, scarves, gloves, etc. But mostly I keep seeing, tanks with a scarf (?) or long sleeved dresses, with bare legs (?), or airy cardigans that we all know aren’t going to keep you warm at all, and seem more fall or summery.
Has anyone else noticed this or am I going crazy? I know there’s plenty of ways to be fashionable during the winter, with nice peacoats and leggings and such, but I feel like store circulars believe lots of skin for the winter is somehow practical.
(for a side note it’s not all of them, but it seems really common lately…)
There just are not very many cute winter fashions.
One solution I suppose is you could wear cute things but for the brief times you do have to be out in nasty cold, just have like a long winter coat. Course then you get to lug the stupid thing around

with the new “plus size models” movement, it seems that everyone suddenly has only negative opinions about skinny girls. i have to say, this really bothers me. im quite thin and i really hate it, i have tried and tried to gain weight several times. so when i hear some one say “do you see that girl? ew shes so skinny” it really bothers me.
what do you guys think about this subject?
I think they are jealous, obviously!

So I am going to be writing a persuasive speech on “Crocs are not a decent type of footwear”.
But I need your help, what are your thoughts on them? Do you like them or not – and importantly WHY?
I’ve already got some ideas but I’d like to see a broader spectrum, so especially to all the Croc-lovers, don’t be afraid to post! I’d love to hear your opinions
crocs doesn’t look good on everyone, they are too casual……but not bad!!

Is it just me but I just think the person is egotistical if they have 600 followers and they are only following 2 people. It’s kind of like “it’s all about me, me and me.”
Sometimes people just use Chictopia as a tool to promote their blog. Usually it’s a sign that the person is very busy with their blog! It’s sad they don’t wanna be part of the chictopia community, but I guess they just don’t have time!
