Hey everyone,
I just had a quick question about some things I bought today. I hope I’m asking under the right category. I went to a goodwill today, and ended up buying quite a few clothes and some fabrics that I’ll be making pillows with.
I’m washing the clothes before I wear them or anything. This may be a stupid question, but should I wash the fabric I bought, as well? I’m only making pillows with them, but I don’t know if I should wash them for any reason, or if it’s okay to just use them as-is.
Thanks!
I think u can wash them just in case.its better to be safe than sorry because you can never be too sure of where they came from
posted 11 months agoI agree with the first reply. You never know where the fabric is from! Besides, pre-shrinking fabric is always a good thing to do before sewing! :)
posted 11 months agodefinitely wash the fabrics. I go to thrift stores for fabrics too (just scored some cute silks the other day), but I definitely wash before using them. especially if they’re all placed on one large bin, you never know if any of the other fabrics had beg bugs, bacteria, etc.
