The past half year, I’ve gained a total of probably 8-9 pounds, I used to weigh 109 and now I’m about 118. Although 109 isn’t that bad (I am about 5’3.5"), I’m actually quite happier now that I’ve gained up to 118. Maybe I’ve come to the point in my life where I feel healthier (although I should try to exercise more) and I’m content with my weight.

When I used to weigh 103 (about 1.5 year ago), I thought I looked good but everybody said I looked gaunt and skeleton-y. On photos, I probably looked better, but in real life, I looked like I lacked nutrition.

So, I was just wondering if any of you Chictopians feel a happy medium with your weight? If not… what would you guys do to get to your ideal weight?

I’m at 97lbs at 4’11", I’m happy at this weight but I do want to tone up. I have huge thighs, my jeans tend to get those thigh tears and it annoys me to no end…Otherwise I’m fine with where I am.

I’m 5’2" and my weight fluctuates around 110-118 . I think its all water weight because I would be 118 one day and 113 the next and people don’t notice the change at all. I think as long as I feel fit and my clothes don’t feel to snug on me I’m happy with my weight.

I’m..5’4 and I weigh around 100lbs which is too little. I’ve always struggled to keep myself healthy and I feel like I need to gain more weight to be happy with myself. I think my ideal weight would be around 115 or a bit more, just to have something on my ribs and feel more energized.

I am 5'11" (1.81 m) and my weight fluctuates about 136-138 lbs. I am very happy with this. I spent a long time trying to get down below this, but when I stopped caring so much about calories and started focusing on weight training I found I was much happier. Now, I track my measurements (hip, waist) rather than my weight.

BMI for women should be between 18.5-24.9, less than that is underweight and more is overweight. Granted, there are exceptions for athletes who may be above this, but have low bodyfat and lots of lean muscle. See below for formulas.

BMI= weight (kg) / [height (m)]2

BMI= weight (lb) / [height (in)]2 x 703
