now, i cannot say I have ever had much problems with acne, but when i do get them, it isn’t pretty. I constantly put Neosporin in order to prevent scarring on the already grown zits but it doesn’t work.
whenever I have a zit, a bugbite or a blackhead, it always scars. They either turn red or brown and on my skin complection, it is highly noticable. I have tried scar creams, ice, pre-treatments, lemon juice…but nothing works!

anyone have a solution that will get rid of these unsightly spots??

there are problems specially mde for that. Try Etude House red spot balm. it removes dark spots or pink powder spot if there are still pimples.

You can also try Mario Badesco but it’s a lot more expensive ;)

Aloe vera’s recommended as a natural way to get rid of scars. Just cut off a leaf and put it in the fridge, and every time you need it you can take off a piece and rub it on your skin. I tried it on a scar on my hand and it took some time, but the scar’s disappeared without a trace. Also, it’s good for you :)

Well, just remember that prevention is the best medicine. Make sure that you have a solid twice daily routine that works for you. You need to make sure you have a cleanser, exfoliant and moisturizer at minimum. I have tried everything myself, as I suffer from severe acne. I found that many of the clean and clear products (i.e. Morning Burst, Foaming Cleanser, etc.) work for me. If nothing over the counter works then I suggest going to a dermatologist. That helped me a lot. I now use CeraVe facial cleanser (similar to Cetaphil) which works pretty well along with my Clinique moisturizer.

As far as scarring goes, you can get bleach cream from your local pharmacy. I would not use it longer than a couple of months at a time though because prolonged use can be bad for your skin. Coconut oil, vitamin E and shea butter are also known to even skintone.

I use products with salicylic acid, and it depends on my problem areas if I want to use products that have a high content of that or less.

There are moisturizers that have salicylic acid, a cheap but an excellent one would be Clean and Clear’s Dual Moisturizer. It moisturizes skin and at the same time treats acne. It also gives you that minty/cool feeling on your face especially on hot days (when you feel like not wearing any moisturizer, but then again you just need to).

Hope that helped.

Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA) are supposed to help fade scars by turning over new skin cells faster. Retin-A does the same thing, but I think you need a prescription for that? And both products make you more sensitive to the sun so you need to wear a sunscreen every day or you’ll end up with dark spots from that.

My skin is awful. I can get the tiniest little zit and it will scar for 6 months, so even when I’m not THAT broken out, it still looks like I am. I tend to get red bumps under the skin that never end up coming to the surface. Once the bump flattens out and stops being inflamed, I have a scar. Occasionally, I’ll get a zit that actually comes to a head and looks white/yellow in the center and those also harden into red scars. I also have a ton of clogged pores— I could run my fingernails over my face and a bunch of hard little oil plugs would roll out of my pores!

My usual salicylic acid/benzoyl peroxide routine wasn’t working anymore, so I started using a glycolic acid cleanser (glycolic acid is an AHA) a few weeks ago and it seems like I’m clearing up. I still have dark spots and a few rough, red bumps that haven’t come to the surface yet but I have no more oil-clogged pores and no new pimples after a week! The zits that I had when I started using this cleanser actually didn’t turn into scars and I think my previous dark spots are fading. I still hate my skin, but I’ve heard that it can take up to 6 weeks for glycolic acid to really clean you up, so I’m hoping that a month from now I’ll have nice skin.

I also know that you should prevent acne and clogged pores in the first place by keeping your hair off your face and NOT PICKING. The picking is an issue for me and I have to try really hard not to do it.

The mario badescu whitening mask does wonders if you use it 2-3 times a week, especially on newly formed scars! I also make sure to use a serum both morning at night made especially for skin lightening. It sounds scary but it just evens out your skin tone! There are tons on the market but i especially like the jurlique purely white skin brightening essence and Estée Lauder Idealist Illumination Serum.

i would recommend you to try INVICIBLE SCARS.I myself am experienced to that. i had acne spots for years. After doing tremendous researches , I finally looked forward in buying this product. it is a hypoallergenic acne scar treatment. Since it does not contain common skin irritants like preservatives and fragrances, it is far less likely to cause a break-out than most other acne scar care products do. I’m really very much satisfied by it as it has really shown drastic effects in such sort span of time. Consult the website if you want any more details

I scar very easily, which is quite unfortunate! Even the tiniest cut causes a very noticeable scar…. I stand by Bio-oil. It is very greasy, for it is oil, but it works wonders! I do use it on my face but only the smallest amount. I have also known women who have used it to get rid of their pregnancy scars. Only apply bio-oil after the cut/pimple has heeled and is a scar, not beforehand. Hope this helps hon!
