Q1. Do you think beauty is important than brains for female success?
No

Q2. Can you name 5 female role models other than female television celebrities?
Sadly, most “famous” women appear on TV. I am fond of my Mother, Friends and collegaues. I guess you could put JK Rowling in there for her rise thru Harry Potter, but she is all over the news too :)

Q3. Are you happy with your appearance?
Other, for the most part yes, but there is always room to grow

Q4. Do you have anxieties regarding your body?
No, not anxiety

Q5. Do you worry about aging in terms of how you will look?
No, just curious what will change and how it will effect me

Q6. Do you know anybody who has had a cosmetic surgical procedure?
Yes, my friend got a non-surgical rhinoplasty

Q7. Have you had a cosmetic surgical procedure?
Yes, I have had silicone breast implants about 5 years ago. I enjoy them a lot and I think when I go back to fix them, if I have to, I will look into Gummybears :)

Q8. Would you consider cosmetic surgery in the future?
Yes, see above

Q9. Do you aspire to look like a particular television celebrity?
No, just fuller…or curvier

Q10. Do you buy ‘womens’ magazines on a regular basis?
Absolutely NOT, I find them tasteless

Q11. Do you recall seeing an advertisement for cosmetic surgery recently?
Yes, the Freeze The Fat in LA

Q12. Do you watch any of the following television programmes on a regular basis?
The Swan, Nip and Tuck, Extreme Makeover.
No, I do not. I prefer more active shows like So, You Think You Can Dance and similar

Please answer the following questions by quoting each question number with your answer:
Q1. Do you think beauty is (I assume you meant to include “more”) important than brains for female success?
Not so much in the modern US society, although I do believe it beauty can and does influence success in many cases. Note this story from The Economist – it really made me think, especially as a woman who has been on BOTH sides of the interview table.

Q2. Can you name 5 female role models other than female television celebrities?
Yes, my best friend, Stacey, my mentor, Jan, my dear friend, Susie (breast cancer survivor), Jane Goodall, Aung San Suu Kyi…

Q3. Are you happy with your appearance?
I could stand to lose a few pounds, but for the most part, yes.

Q4. Do you have anxieties regarding your body?
I don’t know that I would call it “anxiety” but insecurities for sure – doesn’t everyone?

Q5. Do you worry about aging in terms of how you will look?
At this point, no, but I am aware that I look very young for my age. I’m sure someday that, along with my perception and possibly my answer to this question, will change.

Q6. Do you know anybody who has had a cosmetic surgical procedure?
Yes! I am at the age where most of my friends have had several children (I’m not quite there yet), and as a result have jumped into Mommy Makeovers Additionally, my dear friend, Susie, mentioned above, had breast reconstruction after a double mastectomy and chemo. My dad also had blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), which is deemed cosmetic, but in his case was considered medically necessary – his eyelids were too heavy and droopy for him to open his eyes very well.

Q7. Have you had a cosmetic surgical procedure?
No

Q8. Would you consider cosmetic surgery in the future?
Never say never! If and when I have kids, I plan to breastfeed, and if my body doesn’t bounce back on its own, I would not be opposed to resorting to surgical measures to get it back! Or at least put things back in place 

Q9. Do you aspire to look like a particular television celebrity?
No

Q10. Do you buy ‘womens’ magazines on a regular basis?
No, not really, unless SHAPE counts. I have a subscription.

Q11. Do you recall seeing an advertisement for cosmetic surgery recently?
Yes, a local deal website has a coupon deal for VelaShape, but it has a pretty poor RealSelf rating, so I think I’ll steer clear!

Q12. Do you watch any of the following television programmes on a regular basis?
The Swan, Nip and Tuck, Extreme Makeover.
Not really, though I know a lot of people who watch them. I’m more of a The Voice watcher
