Hi I’m deciding to do ombre hair. I’m filipino and I know it may be harder to pull off this look. I’m planning on doing it at home. Any advice? Do you think ombre is a good look for asians? Thanks :)

I think it’s fine, but I’m getting a little sick of ombre imo—I’m not sure how long it will stay relevant, but either way I’m sure it would look nice on you. there are a lot of asians with ombre hair, like this blogger. I think it’s fine if you go for something more minimal—like, the lightest shade shouldn’t be too different from your own hair (no bright orange or blonde)

haha…yeah I know I’m kind of behind on the trend. I was too scared to do it because I never dye my hair and I’m too cheap to do it in a salon. lol

Its not hard to pull off the look, just go for a one or two shades lighter than your skin color. try lighter chunks before you go all out. Its going to look great on you!

We think you should go for it, make sure to choose the right shade to match your eye and skin tone.

Looks really nice! I have that colour hair even without wanting it. The sun does it to me every summer. I’m ready to go darker for Autumn.

Avoid cool colours–anything with green, blue or purple undertones. You need WARMTH because Asian skin has gold tones.Your safest bet would be to pick a warm tone in the golden or caramel range. My personal favourite for Asians is natural glossy black to darkest brown. http://newaylook.com/best-asian-hairstyles-ideas/  in this post I saw some fresh ideas.

It’s an easy way to try out a dramatically different hair color without looking weird. I’ve always thought of hair color, eye color, and skin tone as a package deal. When the combination and balance is right, a woman glows and looks her best. We’ve all seen the poor misguided woman whose all over artificial hair color makes her skin look drab and her eyes washed out. With ombré that’s not as much of a concern because a lot of the natural color (or close to natural) is left to frame the face. Ombré hairstylezz is one trend I wish we had had when I was young
