Do you get particularly bad cramps? I usually can’t go to work or school the first day, and it’s not uncommon for me to vomit from the pain. Usually I take painkillers (for a while I actually had a prescription painkiller from my doctor, but when I came to Japan I couldn’t bring it with me, so now I just use OTC stuff /-:), use a heating pad, and drink decaffeinated teas like chamomile and ginger tea. I know but it actually helped! I was sooo relieved after the pain went and I was just feeling happy again :)
Aww, if it’s really bad you will need to have a go at it. I have really bad cramps but I manage to go to school.
Make a note of it so you won’t forget. Hey, don’t take too many pain killer pills, your immune system might get used to it and it will gradually become less effective.
Hot water bottles are very effective,
Sleeping helps alot,
but through it try my remedy and see how it goes =]

Usually I take painkillers when I wake up before I get any cramps, and usually I won’t get any for the day if I do that.
The best solution for me is Perdolan Femina.
Works in 5 minutes and no more pain for the rest of the day !:D
Exercise also helps.
As do Advil and spicy foods, which have a pain-releasing endocrine.

Atleast for me :P
i used to have the WORSE cramps & i would have to miss school for like 1 or 2 days because its just too painful to move & painkillers dont help me at all but i started taking birth control pills last year & it has helped me a lot!
around that time of the month, it doesnt hurt at all & it only last for 3 days! :) though you would have to go check with your doctor about it first.posted over 3 years ago

I have pcos and get horrendous cramps and sometimes pass out and the best thing for me is gentle exercise – really. I also avoid salt for the whole of my period and at least 3 days before otherwise it’s worse.posted over 3 years ago

i usually get bad cramps only on the first day, but it feels horrible.
muscle relaxers work as well, but they make me sleepy and i hhhhate
sleeping! i’d much rather be up. so if i can lay down for a while and
drink the salt water for a while it’ll eliminate my having to stay in bed all day.

It’s really strange but birth contro pills work aonly for few month and then my body gets used to new hormone level and cramps start again. I got prescribed ain killer but don’t really want to use it that much. I might try it next timeposted over 3 years ago
