Pilates and/or Yoga will help tone your legs.

I guess kickboxing should do it, as well. And jump-roping, or anything that really works those muscles.

I agree with the jump-roping, especially since you’re a track runner! Other high impact exercises will help with your sprinting, whereas stuff like dance is good for long distance or endurance

jump-roping is sooooo good!! :) i read somewhere that 10 minutes of robe-jumping is equal to 30 minutes of running. Jump-roping also tones not just the legs but the whole body… (always a bonus)! :)

oh and its super fun! grab a few friends and have competitions…i.e. who can jump for 2 mins straight, etc…

If you really want to tone then weight resistance training will be your best bet.

Lunges are one of the best.. work your way up from body weight, 3 lb weights, 5 lb and then 7 lb. I do 10 – 15 per set, 3 sets per leg..

Also check out calf raises and this other one.. I think its call a pelvic bridge…

With the short season almost here I definately started doing a regular pilates routine which gives absolutely amazing results but I have been switching things up and started the Kim Kardisian workout routine for legs since its free….I have Comcast On Demand and it offers tons of exercises for free. I have to say that although the exercises are simple they really work your muscles and I feel it the next day.

Running! Especially in intervals. I still get sore the day after, even if it’s just 2 or 3 miles. Also, it’s really hard to get toned in one part of your body without working out the other parts too. A short, full-body circuit workout would do wonders!
