i was wondering if anyone heard about H&M taking the clothes they dont sell and throwing them straight into the garbage and cutting them up so the homeless cant wear them. Do you think it is wrong because thousands of people are poor and need clothes and they could at least donate the leftovers? or do you think they are doing the right thing?

posted over 2 years agoMy God that is attrocious… I know Ireland’s leading fashion retailer, A|Wear give any clothes they do not sell during clearance sales to genuine charity shops. I think that’s the right thing to do!
posted over 2 years agoI work at the H&M here in the Netherlands.
What we do with the clothes we don’t sell anymore we keep those items in our department store and wait until next season and try to incorporate those clothing items into the new trends during that season.
The clothes that are damaged we recycle them, we send them to the headquarter I guess in Germany and I don’t exactly know what they do with those items.
I don’t now how this is done in others countries but I hope I answered some of your questions.
But I must say that I agree with the stories I heard about the stores in NYC.
That’s such a terrible thing for any brand to do. They should just sell their clothes to stores like Ross, Marshalls, or Loehman’s
