I went to steve madden yesterday and bought a cute pair of boots for a 20% discount, final sale, that were not on sale. The reason was because I am a size 5 and the only size 5 left was the one on display.
The display boot didn’t look too bad (a little bit worn on the bottom) and obviously looked like it’s been handled…but it wasn’t too bad. When I brought it home, all i did was wipe it down and clean it up a bit and I couldn’t notice the difference between that display and the one in the box.
I was wondering if anyone else would buy a display model, whether it’s the jacket on the mannequin or the shoe on the wall;
posted over 2 years agoIf there’s nothing wrong with the item I would definitely buy it. If there’s something wrong but repairable, I will still buy it on the condition that I get a little discount.
posted over 2 years agoI would buy display items as long as they’re still in new condition and not worn out. The only way I would buy worn in display stuff is if if it was reduced to half price or less.
posted over 2 years agoI would only buy display items if they were perfectly new. Unless of course it was a a significantly reduced price.
posted over 2 years agoI’ve bought a few items from the displayed. Most of them they have a little worn out marks but nothing to significant. If the store offers to include a discount, I totally consider asking.
posted over 2 years agoI used to work in retail and there have been many times where people would ask for the display items. since we keep our products steamed and well maintained, we would charge full price. the sizes are usually too small for me on display, but if i was small enough and the quality is great, hell yea :)
posted over 2 years agoSure. I mean it’s in the store. It might be a litle awkward watching them get it for you.. But still, why not?
