have you ever bought something and when you see it some days later, you say
“why did i buy this?”

I bought a pair of boots for fall/winter and now its really fall and am wondering why i bought them or even thought they were nice.

Buyer’s remorse! Absolutely, I’ve gone through it. I try to combat it by using a lot of justification and reasoning before committing to a purchase. Can I come up with plenty of outfits with the item? Does it look good on me, or am I just enamored with its standalone cuteness? Will the purchase set me back more than I’d like financially? THEN when I finally decide to get something, I keep it out rather than putting it away, so it’s the first thing I see before getting dressed. I want to see if it will inspire some good outfits. If it’s been a certain amount of time and the item is still sitting unworn, I return it.

ahaha that’s too funny. i totally just went through my entire closet today and picked out the items that still had tags on them. surprise surprise, about half of them i had never worn and couldn’t even believe i actually bought it.

Agh, I hate thinking this.
I have a tea dress that i’ve never worn that I bought from a vintage shop just because it was in the sale at half price.
And also a denim jacket that I bought from Urban Outfitters which had 60% off. It’s probably a bit too small, but I bought it just because it was cheap:(

I always walk away from the item I’m not so sure about getting… if it doesn’t leave my mind, I come back to the store and get it, and if I’ve forgotten about it, it must’ve not been that great in the first place.

All the time. But I usually like the items I buy… it’s just the cost that bugs me. Oh well. They grow on me, and quality does come at a price.

I got a orange semi sheer coccoon top a while back. I tried it on a couple of weeks ago and I thought wtf. Luckily it wasn’t too expensive and if I ever want to dress as a pumpkin for halloween it’ll be very useful lol

I bought only a few items I regret. One being a green hooded sweater, the thread started to come out the second time I wore it. Then I recently bought a dress, in the store I really like it and it was very comfy but I wore it out and I felt so uncomfortable. Because it was a wrap dress and it kept on coming untie. It was only 30 dollars after being marked down 70 percent but I don’t think I’ll wear it again. Maybe I should post a photo.

To avoid this, I try not to impulse shop..so when I think I want something, I walk around with it in the store for like half an hour while looking at other stuff…If I still want it by then, I get it…Usually I don’t…I can always talk myself out of it by then…if I can’t..Its a keeper…

I used to have that all the time!
Right now, though, I leave my cards at home unless I’m going on an actual shopping spree to avoid impulse shopping. I only buy things I réally like.
It’s been working great actually, it’s been a long time since I last had buyer’s remorse. It’s the other way around actually, I do sometimes regret nót buying something! (Which is worse in a way :P )
