My mom has the same problem. She usually shops at the “petite” sections in the malls, like at Express, The Limited, Banana Republic. They usually have, if you look, petite or with their pants it’ll say something like “0 short, 2 short”. If anything you can always go out and get your clothes tailored. :D

I usually try to buy ankle length jeans. They scrunch up a little for me but look like regular length jeans on everyone else. Another problem I have (I’m 5’1”) is the length of straps on tank tops and dresses – these are easy to fix. I know nothing about sewing but taking in a couple inches is easy peasy.
Also, some brands are cut smaller than others. Revolve has great information on brand sizing.
I’m 5 flat. The clothes are out there, you just have to look. As for pants, looking for “normal” capri/highwater length will probably do the trick.
posted over 3 years agoim about 5’1 ish too.. and i wear skinny jeans a lot.. i like to wear jeans that fit perfectly.. you can also wear nice dresses and skirts..
posted over 3 years agoI’m short too (5’0) and the petite section of asos.com has been a godsend for me.
I don’t really follow the rules of fashion (like what experts say suits petite figures etc.). I generally choose to buy regular size long-ish tops and wear them as mini dresses or go oversized.
I’m assuming you’re done growing and will be this tall for life, being a short girl I must tell you – LEARN TO HEM! Seriously, learn to do a good blind hem and it’s a life saver!
posted over 3 years agoI’m 4’9! The Children’s section can actually be a God send, it’s worth a look for pants. I get a lot of my stuff tailored. You should check out the Olsen twins style, they are tiny but always look fantastic and really mature.
posted over 3 years agoI’m short! I dont know that I would go to the children’s section if you’re trying to look older- there are clothes that are fairly generic (jeans, pants, plain tees) that you can wear from there- but for the most part I’d stay away. A lot of brands carry petite sizes (which are still too tall for me usually T_T) but even so, they’ll fit better.
And definitely…hem… hemming jeans isn’t that expensive.
and think of it as a blessing! I have things that are supposed to be tops but are seriously knee length dresses on me so it’s fun!
I know of short people who shop in children sections, petite sections, or buy their desired outfits in any store section and they just go and get the hemmed and tailored.
