Hi! :)
So, I’m 16 and a sophomore in high school. I’ve always dreamt of breaking into the fashion world. Mainly into fashion journalism.
Having said this, I don’t want to go to any fashion school since I want to have a normal college life. My parents and I are considering NYU (USA) and a couple of colleges in my country (India). Is it possible for me to become a fashion journalist even if I don’t go to a fashion school? If so, which courses should I major in?
Thank you! :)
posted over 1 year agoYes! You will probably do better majoring in journalism. If you attend NYU you’ll also be right at the heart of things too- you’re be able to befriend people that ARE attending fashion school and possibly take a couple of related courses to add to your skill set.

Maybe getting a blog is something for you ;] Blogspot is good, I have one too. Real easy

start your own blog, make sure your english is perfect, learn terms and notions related to fashion, KNOW your fashion – as in who designs for each fashion house, attend fashion shows and write reports on them. journalism will teach you how to express your ideas in a non ambiguous way.
