Do you want a huge wedding or a tiny one?
I married my husband down by the lake near our apartment. Just our immediate families were there and my mom officiated. It was perfect. A few months later we had a big party with our friends. I feel like I got the best of both worlds.
What do you want to do?
posted 8 months agoI always thought of having a small wedding, but after just having been to a big wedding recently (maybe 200+ people) I’m not so sure! Still, I’m leaning towards a smaller number, like 100 people that I’ve already met on multiple occasions. I don’t want to meet people for the first time at my wedding and I don’t plan on inviting friends of parents. :)
posted 8 months agoHonestly I’m too lazy and cheap for a big wedding. I plan to elope someday (when I get around to it).

I had a huge wedding in terms of people (240 in the day and another 80 for the evening party).
My husband and I know a lot of people as we travel around with work a lot and work in the usic industry which is very social.
However I think the wedding had a very intimate feeling as it was held in the grounds of a family house – ceremony int he garden, officiated by my husbands’s father and the food was very informal indian hot buffet with beer on the table. The party was in a big tipi and we had 50 close friends camping in bell tents afterwards. We had our own bridal bell tent and didn’t waste money on an expensive hotel. It was perfect.
I think people automatically assume that having a lot of people means it will be grand, pompous and impersonal – when in reality it just means you can share your special day with everyone and your evening party will be BADASS!
posted 7 months agoI’m having a really small wedding, just me, my partner and my best friend.
We’re getting married in Florida so we can’t bring everyone over. We’ll have a big party to celebrate our wedding anniversary at home though.

I wish I could get away with having a small wedding but I just know that my parents will want to invite their friends (sigh). My ideal wedding would be 50-80 people, but I don’t think that would ever happen.

posted about 1 month agoLike I said to my Mom I don;t want to be meeting my fourth cousin at my wedding.
WE are having an intimate affair probably under 50. I always wanted a beach wedding so it is going to be a destination wedding which helps cutting the guest list without hurting anyone’s feelings really.
