On July with my friends with whom I am making my blog, we have in mind to buy our name domain. But after reading some reviews we have heard that with Blogger we’d rather conserve our actual address which is http://www.thinkincognito-eng.blogspot.com instead of changing it to http://www.thinkincognito-eng.com

If you are on Blogger and have bought your domain name can you help me please ? Where did you buy your domain name ? Is it good ? Does Blogger is that really difficult to use after buying a domain name ?

Thank you

Shug’A’Very from Incognito

I bought one but deactivated it because links to ‘.blogspot.com’ posts didn’t re-direct to the .com domain, and GFC stopped working. too much of a headache—it’s not hard for people to type that extra ‘.blogspot.com’ anyway.

if you’re just starting to blog and don’t have that many followers, or don’t share your links on other sites, go for it. otherwise, not worth it.

1and1 works for me! It helps to have someone tech-savvy handle setting up the CNAME/A-List stuff, which is where a lot of the nightmare stories come from. Having my own domain name is working just fine for me personally!

Thank you for your answer @kat-mauvais. I will look at 1and1 and also look for the meaning of CNAME/A.

I had no problem with this. I bought my domain through godaddy and it connected no problem with my blogger profile.
