hello (my first post!)
i bought a light blue denim jacket. it has a chinastyle collar, slightly cropped and ruched at the bottom (so it looks slightly.. voluminous?)
i dont know what to wear it with!
i live in australia and its still a bit cooler in the mornings…
btw, i am on the chubby side with asian proportions (longer torso, shorter shins etc).
thanks for any help! =)
i think over girly daytime dresses would look cool, instead of the leather jacket & dress look. I would personally avoid wearing with jeans! Maybe with city shorts could look good too..

I desperately need a versatile pair of boots that are dirt cheap. Suggestions?
I’ve found 2 candidates so far and I’d like opinions.

Black or brown? Do they look sort of ugly/suited for your mom?
http://www.gojane.com/23845.html
They’re super cheap! But will they be versatile?
I think out of the two, the second pair is the most versatile and fashionable at the same time. I think they’ll be cute with a good range of outfits. Keep looking, though. There are a lot of cheap boots out there that are fashionable and functional too. Try Payless.

I have 2 pairs of brown cowboy boots… and i’m at a loss how to wear them.
I wish they were black…
with brighter colored pieces and with a skirt or skinny jeans. brown goes well with everything but black or grey usually.

i’m thinking about buying a pair from zara but i’m wondering if they’re worth the investment. would they start looking like shit pretty fast, or are they manageable? any advice appreciated thankss
if you get them in a dark enough color (but not black) they should be fine. i have dark brown and although they have some spots, you really cannot tell unless you look up close.

I’m a little confused when it comes to what to wear with black and white oxfords like these. Suggestions? By the way, are they ugly? >.>

does anyone know what happened to www.nicoleforum2.proboards62.com?
it was a great forum where people discussed upcoming trends and styles (not just about nicole)

I posted about this last night on my blog, but realize that’s probably not the best way to get a lot of opinions and fast…so!
I just bought this dress off eBay, but seeing it in person I’m thinking it might be too extreme for me.
What do you think? Should I keep it or sell it back on eBay?
The neckline and shoulders don’t compliment your hair very well. If you had something a bit more androgynous (pageboy, short bob), it might be able to work better. Overall, it’s a pretty average dress. If the print weren’t so overtly old, it’d have been perfect.

I have been looking for the perfect pair since i saw them on a girl who cuts my boyfriends hair, they where Combat style mid lengh lace ups, Black with decent sized holes for the lace. I have quite big calfs so they cant be a slim fit, I’m a size 12. & Looking to pay anything form £50.00 to £150.00 for the right pair. Ohh and before i forget if possible vintage or rustic looking….

I just got back from the thrift store and i got myself a white cotton men’s longsleeved collared shirt. Now i bought it to throw on with jeans, tucked/untucked, with chunky jewellry or chucks or heels or boots…all in all, pretty simple and casual. How would you wear one? Can you suggest any ways to wear an oversized men’s shirt, or what i should avoid?
ps if anyone knows how to refine a photo search so that i could just enter those perameters and see what others have done, let me know!

So i got a pair of Doc Martens in Zebra Prints and I have absolutely no idea how/where to wear them.
I normally have a romantic/classic style and feel most comfortable in them.
How do I work these into my closet for a romantic/classic sort of look?
Oh, and they’re kinda furry(bovine leather with hair left on and printed) and I’m really sort(28.5” inseams anyone?) and have muscular calves.
Thank you.

I have really bad problems with my hips and knees. I have sciatica in my left hip, bruscitus in my right hip, and the ligaments in my left knee are really loose and painful from years of soccer. So comfortable shoes are a must, other wise I can’t always walk very well. So, my thoughtful father ordered me Tevas to wear this summer. I tried them on, super comfortable. Only problem, they make my feet look like Frankenstein; strappy in all the wrong ways. Does anyone have any recommendations for CUTE comfortable work appropriate shoes? I work in a “dress casual” office. If that even means anything. Preferably flat with some kind of arch support, since I’m on my feet a lot at work, sometimes lifting things.
I know I’m not the OP, but I have insoles, and it’s hard to wear them with flat shoes, unless the shoe has a high back. Most flats aren’t really designed with orthopedic insoles in mind, so when the insole goes in, the entire heel of the foot is not covered by the back and it rubs against the skin and can cause bleeding.
It is possible to find flats for insoles but make sure they have a high back.

I have a pair of red tights that I bought for a fancy dress costume now gathering dust in my drawer, and I’d love some suggestions of what types of clothing and color combinations to wear them with.
I tried them once with a black dress but with black they seemed to look too bright.
Glad to help. (:

I was given a pair of red Ksubi super skinny zips and a lovely electric blue short-sleeved top for my birthday about a year ago, and the tag still remains on them! I really do love them, and they fit really well, but I just have no idea what to wear them with! I’ve never really worn any exceptionally bright colours before, so I’m not sure what to team them up with—without looking mistmatched or boring. :S
i agree with cookiemonster. start off easy. i’ve red jeans that go perfectly with my oversized black sweater. and the top, you could pair with neutral colored jeans, stray away from more blue jeans. try white skinnies? or if the top fits, i’d wear it with a bandage skirt and tights with a pair of platforms. (:

Next weekend, I’m planning on going to the Virgin Mobile Festival here in Baltimore. It’s a two-day, ALL day festival outdoors…and the temperatures are supposed to be in the mid-90’s. Since we’re in Maryland, that means that with the humidity, it’ll probably feel like close to 100 degrees all day!
I want to look fashionable, but comfort will be the #1 priority! Any suggestions? Thanks, kiddies!! :D
xoxo Linda
I’m from DC and the heat was part of the reason I chose not to go to Virgin Fest (but jealous, cause it should be awesome!).
I would wear as little as possible. Loose floaty things, bathing suit top, lightweight t-shirt (to protect from the sun), a hat, sunglasses, maybe a lightweight scarf/bandanna to cover your neck. I wouldn’t go with denim on the bottom, it’s not too good in the heat, it’s up to you if you want to wear a skirt/dress or not. some layers are probably good, so if you start to get sunburn you can cover up.
Don’t forget sunscreen!

the jacket in question:
http://www.justsweet.com/images/sections/col/lb…
in navy blue. I purchased it in June because I fell in love with the softness of the leather, the color and the sleeve detailing (hard to see in the picture), but I have no idea how to wear something asymmetric and floaty and … 2/3 sleeved without looking like a bloated whale. Please help!
the jacket is amazing, I think both ideas are good, but I vote for the skinny jeans idea.

ok my mum just bought me some cowboy boots (we’re going riding out west and my high English ones wont do)
here’s the question, are there realistic ways to wear them after I’m done frollicking in the wild wild west?
I would really like to, they are actually really pretty if i could figure this out.
stylist! help!
I wear my cowboy boots with EVERYTHING. Take a look at my ChicBlog. They’ve been my summer staples. ;)
They really do go with everything from skinny jeans to dresses to shorts to literally, EVERYTHING. ;)

I was wondering about sizes for American Apparel. My waist is 27-28 inches and my hips are 34 inches. Is that abnormal? Because I want some things from AA. But for the one-pieces and dresses, the waist is super tiny. How would they fit me?
Oh, and for skirts, should I go with my size, or one size smaller?
I have a 25” waist and got a XS melange jersey pocket skirt from AA. It just a wee bit tight and I probably should’ve gotten a S. I’m guessing you would go with a M.

im looking for a pair of casual, everyday boots. i was thinking minnetonka booties in black, but dont want to get them if they are gonna go out of style anytime soon. i want black and either below the calf height or right below the knee. ideas??? thanks =)
I love minnetonka. If you like something and it looks good on you, it’s never out. Plus they’re on the cheaper side, so even if you decide they are “out” it’s not a great loss after one season.

I always wear daggy trackies or old jeans with an ugly long sleeved top, maybe a cardi and a thick coat wth a scarf. It never looks matched (like a nice coat that you would wear to a proper place(like church) with old track pants!)
I know it looks bad but i am cold!!!! No one in my class dresses up, but me mixing these 2 things look aweful.
What can i wear? I have no money to spend, and by no i mean about $50, or less. And i have no warm clothes, i have over 100 summer shirts. I don’t want to look over dressed, i want to blend in. Most of them wear jeans or track pants also. But with a short jacket instead of a long coat like i do- but it is warm!
What tips do you have for me?? What is a good casual warm outfit. I have no nice jeans that fit me. (i recently gained 10 kilos- i’m working to take them off again i’m at my heaviest now pretty much)
PS I’m 5 flat, i weigh 114 pounds and i am pear shaped (waist up is skinny and small, waist down is plump)
Op shopping is what i think i’m going to be recommended. I also don’t drive and there are only 2 here. My mother refuses to take me there. My sister might if i pay her.

My birthday is coming up so I have to compile a b-day list.. I’m thinking of getting this bag. Which color should I get? I’m leaning towards the yellow since I already have quite a number of black bags…..
i love the yellow bag! its hard to get a brightly colored bags that don’t look cheap, but the marc one looks so chic.

could i wear bright yellow suede round-toe slingbacks with a 4’ heel into fall/winter? if so, how would you do it?
Opaque gray or black tights would transition the shoe into fall

omg you can wear almost any kind of shoe with this skirt. it depends on the rest of the outfit i suppose. ballet flats. strappy sandals. sneakers. booties. oxfords. tall boots. high heels. slingbacks. etc. your pick really.

hello!
I fell for skinny jeans, like 80% of the people I know, but I’ve always had problems finding nice ones. I’m short, around 5’2” or 5’3”, and jeans with an inseam of 32” are definitely unfit for me! I own three pairs of them, two made by Truck Jeans and one by H&M. usually, I just roll them up or leave them to hang around my ankles, but I tired of both methods and got one of the three (badly) tailored. now, it’s the right length, but barely considered “skinny”! occasionally, I’ll find jeans that come in ‘short’ sizes, but they also don’t fit nicely.
is there any hope? I’d really appreciate any help in finding relatively cheap (under $50) short jeans or any tips on making them work.
SJP’s Bitten line has great skinny jeans (and trousers!). I’m 5’2 so I understand—the pants I got from Steve and Barrys are perfect, no alteration needed. Plus! They were 8.98 : )

I loved the red plaid ascot tie top Leanne Marshall was wearing on the latest episode of Project Runway, and found a very similar one on Urban Outfitters (without the tie.) I could go ahead and get this color, which is very close to hers:
But I thought this orange one was pretty funky too:
I don’t know though. I worry that the color scheme may look a little too Ralph Lauren/preppy. Also may not be as wearable.
What do you think?
(And does anyone know who Leanne was wearing, by any chance…??)
Definatley orange! You could use it with soo many different pieces!

Ok….So I’ve been living without a vest for almost a year now….It’s just that which ever one that I’ve come across has been too small….Ugly color…Not fitting…Etc.
Then I tried to sew one…But I couldn’t find the right fabric.
Any suggestions how I can get one?
Where did you get yours?
What kind of vest? Knit vest? Suit vest? etc
