So I got these combat boots from Charlotte Russe (http://www.charlotterusse.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10947883) (but it’s all black!) a couple of days ago and I don’t know what to wear it with.
any advice/tips?
posted about 2 years agoHi!
I’ve answered similar questions before, so I’ll just re-post the sets I made for them! My best tips is that with boots that masculine, wear some feminine elements in your outfit. Florals and ruffles go perfectly with lace up boots!
Here’s a set for tan combat boots (Boyish style)
And for some black lace-up booties
I definitely agree with hii_live ! mixing in some ultra feminine details can really make your boots pop!
posted about 2 years agoThe boots themselves are a statement piece.
They are quite often matched with a rugged, boyish look…which works fine.
For the pop!™ a frilly blouse rly works! hii_live beat me to it =P

a black bodycon dress with a military jacket or a colorful blazer (sleeves rolled up) on top of it, sheer black pantyhose, minimal make up except for a scarlet lip and possibly sheer gray eyeshadow, colorful nails, chunky rings<3.
or a flowy silky top with slight batwing sleeves tucked in leggings of a nude color or an army green, a big vintage belt with black lace applique or coin detailing a few bangles and hair wavy to one side ;)
hehe sorry i got carried away :x
Like a few have already stated, adding feminine pieces to this outfit is a great idea. I love pairing lace or sheer tops in soft colors with my black combat boots.
If you’re more into color than I am, brights/neons are great. They contrast beautifully with the edginess of the combat boots and are “in” this season!
posted about 2 years agoI have a pair of black combat boots and I love wearing them with my black skinny jeans. It also goes well with my red/black lace dress or with black short shorts and any top. They’re so very versatile and comfortable and add some edge to any look. Hope you enjoy your pair!
posted about 2 years agoI have grey combat boots and I think once you get used to them they get easier and easier to wear. A lot of time I pair my girliest pieces with them because that offsets the toughness of the boots a little bit. I love mine with skinny jeans tucked in and a floral silk blouse or a below the knee lace skirt and bright colored top.
posted about 2 years agoI have some boots that are almost identical to the ones you got. I wasn’t sure what I’d wear them with, but I actually wear them all the time now. My favorite thing to pair with them is a feminine, floral dress. They also look good with a mini skirt and t-shirt for a more punk look. I’ve been meaning to try mine with shorts over tights, which is also a cute look.
