I bought a pair of vintage sunglasses yesterday that have really strong prescription lenses. I’ve heard it’s possible for sunglass stores to grind down the lens to a normal thickness (these are really thick, coke-bottle glasses) – does anyone know if that’s actually true? Or would a store be able to take out the old lenses and put in new, non-prescription ones? How much would either option cost?
If anyone has been in a similar situation I would really appreciate your advice. Thanks!

I’ve turned my wayfarer sunglasses into eyeglasses via just replacing the lense. They usually do it for free and you just pay for the cost of the lense. :)
