I got this great vintage trench coat a month or so ago and I’m not sure if I should get it shortened. I’m short as it is (5’0") and wouldn’t want to make myself look smaller with a coat that’s too long but I also don’t want it to be short. I love the look of long trench coats.

As it is, it hits about 4" below my knee. It does break when I walk, so the length isn’t too noticeable then. It wouldn’t hurt for some other opinions though, so what does everyone think?

It looks good in the pic, especially because you’re wearing it with skinny jeans and heels. I think it might be a tad long if you’re wearing it with flats or flat boots, though I can’t judge because I haven’t seen it worn like that!

Honestly, I think you should get it shortened. Unless you do the full-on 40’s style with every outfit you wear that trench to, it might look a little too detectiveish.

Both very good points, thanks guys! I think I’ll get it taken up.
