I am a part of my temple’s Purim Schpiel, which is a dramatic re-telling of the Purim story. I am also in charge of costumes, and I need some help with fitting the costumes to the theme, which is Jewish-American singer/songwriters. I realize it is a very broad theme. Some of the artists I know we are using are KISS, Maroon 5 (Adam Levine is Jewish), Barbara Streisand, and Blue Oyster Cult. I have an idea for me and my friend, who are playing Bigtan and Teresh, who plan to kill the King. The song is by Blue Oyster Cult, so we could find rock band tees at thrift stores and style them rocker. But that’s my only idea.

So I am asking for suggestions about how the costumes should look. Keep in mind that the majority of the players are over 40 years old and self consious about their bodies. Also, ensure that your suggestions aren’t too expensive or could be attainable at thrift stores. I will update this post with all the artists we are using as I know them. Thanks in advance!
