Yay or nay?
They’re from the 80’s and the shoulder padding makes your shoulders look humongo.
Basically
Blazer + padding = good or bad?

I say yay only if you do it the Margielic way: ultra boxy or super sharp.

I’m REALLY picking about my shoulder padded blazers. One jacket, I kept because it looked really cute, but another one I recently got, it just made me look plain manly so i cut them out.

But overall, yes. they’re good (a majority of the time haha)

Can depend on the cut of the jacket, and your build. I’m too heavy-shouldered for them, but look great on fine-boned people.

I have one, its black and looks similar to the BALMAIN blazers. It’s not that heavily padded, but its noticeable. I’m quite skinny so it looks alright on me, but i’ve seen other people wear it who are broader in shoulders and it doesn’t suit that build very well. That just proves ciseauxx’s point :)
I personally love them, but everyone has their own style, it’s what is great about fashion and is why fashion exists!

it depends on the clothing

Depends on the jacket itself and the person it’s on! The padding can make a blazer look more structural; it doesn’t have to be heavily padded. If you have petite shoulders, you could probably get away with it. :)

YES. A tip- If you have broad shoulders, you’re better off going for the more pointed shoulders in a blazer (as opposed to rounded shoulderpads you would find in a blazer at a thrift store). I have broad shoulders and I’ve found the more pointed blazers look more feminine.
