Next month my daughter gets baptised. I’m thinking of wearing my H&M white lace dress tunic
http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDAwWDM0MQ==/$(KGrHqF,!okFBLQpHOU7BQT+LkzjMg~~60_1.JPG?set_id=8800005007
I’d like to wear navy peep toe heels and a navy blazer (if the weather requires it). My problem is this, the dress is so short to wear alone in church. Ive thought of a dressy pair of shorts, but what color and would that be OK given the occasion? Thanks!!

I don’t think shorts would be a very good idea to wear at the church. But if your going to wear jeans or pants, I would suggest either light or dark brown.

Well, i don’t feel that shorts would be the solution, the dress would probably cover them almost entirely. Probably the best idea would be to pair your lovely tunic dress with a pair of lace flare summer pants for church, here are a few links to get an idea- http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fthefashionatetraveller.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2010%2F12%2Flace-flares.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fthefashionatetraveller.com%2Flets-talk-about-tights&docid=gZjsQJdwtjtNkM&tbnid=LVoy-wx37J3-SM&w=641&h=1000&ei=34-HUb_BOMTBPN2dgaAF&ved=0CAcQxiAwBQ&iact=ricl , http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2F1.bp.blogspot.com%2F-PfqkdPZZLIE%2FTe1W6-54XkI%2FAAAAAAAABlo%2FwgTvxFA9H2o%2Fs1600%2FP1070663.JPG&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Faestheticattic.blogspot.com%2F2011%2F06%2Flace-flare.html&docid=CpM3zvmP5_oiKM&tbnid=GR8rIjBFKcMquM&w=1200&h=1600&ei=34-HUb_BOMTBPN2dgaAF&ved=0CAkQxiAwBw&iact=ricl, http://www.google.com/imgres?start=369&newwindow=1&hl=en&biw=1366&bih=643&tbm=isch&tbnid=2VcipH1YwYZGLM:&imgrefurl=http://any2ndnow.com/2010/09/16/dolly-batts-clobber-at-bona-drag/&docid=hGBIedIoUSxOHM&imgurl=http://sighgee.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/lace-pants-5a.jpg%253Fw%253D600&w=372&h=450&ei=QI-HUcWIGsS7OZ7vgPgG&zoom=1&ved=1t:3588,r:71,s:300,i:217&iact=rc&dur=675&page=12&tbnh=176&tbnw=142&ndsp=35&tx=58&ty=24, http://www.google.com/imgres?newwindow=1&hl=en&biw=1366&bih=643&tbm=isch&tbnid=OaGKIGyyxigYGM:&imgrefurl=http://www.polyvore.com/lavender_lace_flare_pants/thing%3Fid%3D17014361&docid=b3SIXZsOZFcZcM&imgurl=http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing%253F.out%253Djpg%2526size%253Dl%2526tid%253D17014361&w=300&h=300&ei=z4-HUbisBYPYOtq6gcgI&zoom=1&ved=1t:3588,r:27,s:0,i:175&iact=rc&dur=919&page=2&tbnh=175&tbnw=169&start=23&ndsp=32&tx=120&ty=31

hey, i would try it with pastel tights that don’t shine through. that way you are not showing to much skin, but still keeping it light. then add some pastel heels or ballerinas and you get a bright spring time church look :-)

1) You could wear a pencil skirt the colour of your blazer underneath so it could peak out from under your dress.

2) How about having a mesh underlay skirt under your dress, it could add length without being too jarring.

3) How about opting for a sheer maxi skirt to create an angelic effect with your skirt?

4) Wear opaque stockings under your dress.

5) As @MadalinaGugila  suggested, you could go boho and pair your dress with flare trousers as Selena Gomez did here.
