I bought this dress for my 30th birthday party and I love it, but I can’t decide how to style it:
http://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/Rebecca-Taylor-Party-Girl-Strapless-Dress-Contemporary/prod129480105/
It’s a cocktail party at a restaurant in the city on a Saturday night in the summer. I’d like to avoid black or anything that reads ’80’s. Other than that I’m open to suggestions.
Thanks!

I would wear this dress with nude pumps to give the outfit the pink-candy-and-cream look. Other than that, I think this dress pretty much speaks for itself…so you really don’t have to accessorize much.

Have fun!

I agree, no need of much accessories. The dress is stunning enough!

I would wear my hair back in a shiney bun with tons of eye makeup. Smokey eyes, glitter shadow, fake lashes…Have you ever seen the 80s video “addicted to love?” by Robert Palmer?
thats the look I would go for…I am going to try and see if I could find a pic of it to post for you

I would go for this makeup look:
http://lipstickonyourpillow.blogspot.com/2012/03/addicted-to-love.html

This woman is imitating the “addicted to love” video look..with slick back hair and heavy makeup. I think that looks best with this dress for an impact statement.
Although wild curly hair would look great too..

I would wear blingy heels…
and maybe a faux fur or diamond necklace with a clutch.

Go all out and have FUN!

As it turns out I have a pair of heels that go perfectly and they have this fabulous jeweled buckle, so I’m going to go with a Marilyn Monroe “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” look (no gloves though, don’t want it to look like a costume).
@Mercik – that’s funny that you posted that make-up look because one of my favorite eye shadow duos looks exactly like that! I think I’m just going to go with a simple liquid liner look for this occasion though.
Thank you all for your suggestions!

Love the dress! Try adding a white collar necklace, silver braided belt and nude platform sandals for a fun and chic look.
