I’m going to prom and need something fancy to wear over my dress. It’s a short dress with thick straps, as my accessories i’m using bows and pearls. I was thinking of maybe some sort of dressier cardigan but I dont’ know where to find one. I’m sick of those silk shawl/wraps that are typically worn. Any ideas?

Go for a blazer. It adds a nice edge to the more feminine bows and pearls.
I think a cardigan might dress it down a bit, and I can’t imagine a “formal” cardigan without thinking matronly.
Try any sort of bolero or more cropped jacket. Something lightweight, maybe a-line, or even with 3/4-sleeves might be a fun twist that no one else would wear. I love the idea of this ISLII cropped blazer, but I’m not certain it suits the occasion.

I agree with the blazer! It can be long sleeve and scrunched up to be 3/4. Very chic with a prom dress.
