Fashion is the problem. Style is the solution.
My style icon is my godmother, DeOnna Mann, formerly of Athens, GA, now of Brooklyn, NY. What I remember of her style from my childhood includes:
- lots of tattoos, including two lines like stocking seams up the backs of her legs
- flowy, printed, summery dresses
- piercings, including a bullring in her nose
- tons of rings, including a skull and one with three spikes jutting out
- wildly curly auburn hair
- expensive men’s shoes, particularly in alligator
The ’90s, the ’70s, the ’60s, the South, dancers, children, art, people I see, gothic hippie ballerinas, TV, music, and my imagination influence my style.
I buy tons of pale pink, nude, and black lately
Always interesting tights
Miniskirts
I want:
- a furcoat
- wildflower-print Doc Martens
- blue tights with white stars
- crinoline skirts
- more shoes
