First I’d like to say that I have mad respect for all elements of fashion. The creators of design and fashion put themselves into their work, that in itself, gains my respect. Fabric manufacturers have a vision of color, patterns, and textures that inspire designers to create. I see style and fashion as an expression of art and visual to one’s self. It is beautiful in all aspects because it tells people, who you are and what’s in your heart and soul. What you see on the outside is a direct reflection on who is on the inside, the outside is definitely a component to the heart and soul of a person. That is why when I see something that speaks to me, I wear it. If I understand or hear an article of clothing, so to speak, what the artist (the designer) is saying I wear it. We may share the same feelings or thoughts and I show my appreciation for their creativity by wearing it. Now the most important part of that is, while I am showing that I understand, I also can’t deny MY feelings or self expression. This is when the real fun begins for me. I add my heart and soul to theirs and now it’s on. It starts off with a melody (fabric), add a new instrument (designer), add my lyrics and maybe a chorus (my personal touch)…. now we have a beautiful song. I can sing and dance to my own tune.
