I just had a magical weekend… you know the type of weekend that’s so exciting/fun/carefree/ awesome that you just don’t want it to end… It started out with a very quiet Friday night at home… sounds boring but it was by choice. I flicked through recipe books and old magazine clippings and was asleep by midnight.Saturday the lover and I took full advantage of the summer weather and drove to the coast. We couldn’t have picked a better day to head to the beach. We sunbathed, made a splash and dozed off. The afternoon followed with a yummy lunch (pea, lemon and ricotta pasta) with combined efforts the whole cooking process took about ten minutes which ensured more time for relaxing. Our night ended with a late night bbq and Ever After- the movie. Sunday we visited Italy for a moment at the cutest little Italian cafe. Coffee, newspaper and honey roasted muesli- what more could a girl ask for?We then made our way home to another bbq with family and friends followed by a bike ride with a friend. The gentle breeze blowing in my face was the perfect ending to a perfect weekend. I know it might not sound that fabulous in words but it was honestly one of the best weekends I’ve had in a long time…
Was your weekend magical? What did you do? Tinkxx

Tinks Summer Budget... Add as Favorite Photo

After many months of a little too much spending and very little saving the boy and I have devised a new budget. I’m officially on a shopping ban and as painful as it is for me I don’t think I will struggle too much. Spending summer 2010 travelling around Europe makes the ban well worth it.
I will be dedicating many hours to my wardrobe and making use out of the more versatile pieces and finding various ways I can work them. I know it’s terrible but I really struggle with the idea of wearing the same outfits twice. In saying that I’m also aware of the fact that my wardrobe has way too many pieces that have either never be worn or very lightly worn and this makes me feel a little greedy and ungrateful. Here’s to Spring cleaning my lifestyle.
Also after looking at these pictures I am now aware of how lily white my skin is and how I desperately need a tan.

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the way we all carry ourselves in everyday life. From the laid-back easy breed of chic to the quirky trend-setters. No two people are the same and it’s lead to me thinking of the ways in which i put myself out to the world.
I could never lead a flawless existence nor do i think it would be as fun as being crazy and messy. I don’t think i could pull off the whole conventionaly pretty look as it just appears to be a whole lot of hard work. It’s not that I don’t find the whole clean lines, polished hair, spotless makeup, matching accessories aesthetically pleasing. It just doesn’t seem to work on me. I’ve never really aspired for perfection- mostly due to the fact that perfection is unreachable. I don’t expect others to gush over how i dress or even understand my form of dressing( sometimes i cease to get myself) and when i get dressed every day/ night opinions of others don’t come into the equation. I’m unkempt and all of my outfits- even the super girly ones have a certain degree of untidiness to them. Just the thought of standing in front of a mirror styling each strand of hair to salon quality is headache inducing. I guess that was a contributing factor to why I chopped it all off earlier in the year. I still prefer to let my hair dry in it’s natural shaggy- ness even though it’s short and easily styled. When it comes to makeup application I very rarely fix mistakes. Typically my eyeliner is smudged and I fail to reapply throughout the day. In fact most days I wear no makeup at all. Stains and spills cover the majority of my white garments which is disapointing but worth a laugh- hey why else did they create napi san? My nailpolish chips about 30 minutes after I finish painting them . I scuff my shoes, both the cheap and the expensive versions a little to frequently but i take it as a sign that good fun was had. In saying all of this I think it’s slow minded to judge people based purely on there exterior. A look might only make up a minute part of ones personality.
So tell me are you clean shaven or stubble friendly? :)

Sunday was supposed to be a lazy day. Hence the crazy undone hair. The weather turned out to be too warm to waste. I went out with the boyfriend and the sister for thai lunch in the sun, iced teas and cookies and cream ice cream. In my lazy state a simple outift was all i could throw together. I remained super comfy in these baggy harem style pants that i bought on sale from Sportsgirl- oh Sportsgirl how i love your sales:) My summer wardrobe wishlist is getting bigger and bigger. I’m obssessed with chunky wedges, rompers, maxi dresses, maxi skirts, crop tops and swimwear of all sorts. I’m currently spring cleaning my wardrobe and falling back in love with summer pieces that i forgot i owned and coming up with new and better ways to work them for summer 09/10. I’ll keep you updated.
