BIG BIG Plaid Add as Favorite Photo

The 60’s! — I had so much fun taking this photo. It was another one taken on a long, dreary rainy day…
The cape is a very heavy ‘blanket’ wool and it weights a ton. It’s reversible – to a brilliant blue which you can just see a peek of. And those red plaid ‘over the knee’ socks – they were so perfect, I felt so lucky to score them. What else? Just having a blast that day. Maybe had something to do with listening to The Beatles Box Set and having just finished reading Miss O’Dell.

There are so many Tweed Rides taking place all over that I was incredibly inspired to do this shoot. I really wanted to share my ‘Tweedy’ vintage outfit. And especially the vintage tweed and leather case on my back bicycle rack – it is so handsome and very exquisitely made. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Foraging for Wild Fruit on my Bicycle Add as Favorite Photo

This photo is from a couple of days ago. I went out to forage (pick) wild blackberries. I brought along some apricots from the farmers market to eat along the way.
I’m loving those really long over sized denim dresses from the thrift store that I promptly cut off and turn into summer coats.

Take a spin.
On my way to a tea party celebration during the Easter Holidays.
****update: I just figured out how to enter this photo in the TopShop Bicycle Contest, duh…
Anyway some more details. This bicycle is a vintage 1970’s Motobecane. I
purchased it through the Bike Church, my local Bike Coop. It cost an unbelievable $10.00 and I put a LOT of work into restoring it. I haven’t owned a new bicycle since I was in 3rd grade, so a new bike would be really great.
Bicycling is so wonderful. I hope anyone reading this is inspired to ride in whatever you feel like wearing for the day. Just ride!

Riding Along on my vintage 1970’s Motobecane Bicycle next to a sweet little creek.
“ewwh”…look on my face because of trash floating in the stream. clean up time!
In case you’re wondering what’s on my head? It’s a helmet bicycle cover or bicycle bonnet that I hand make. the bicycle helmet is a 100% certified bicycle helmet. The brim really keeps my face shaded from the hot sun too.
