Hi Pretty Girls :]
and Guys of course~
So this is my first blog, although I’ve been on Chictopia for almost a year. Its been awesome..you guys are great gorgeous and always positive..sometimes an awesome outfit really brightens your day
This is gonna have a different vibe from the usual outfit blog…
Anyway so last Monday, my friends and I finished our mocks finals..so we decided to go to Valletta shop and unwind a little after practically 4 weeks of exams
and on the bus I realised how much Malta has changed since I first started taking the bus because of Malta’s geographical position a lot of illegal immigrants end up drifting ashore and most of the time we help them and give them shelter.
Let me explain a little though – Malta is tiny..with a population of a little less than half a million, and we are already grossly over populated but we do what we can. This has given rise to lots of heated arguments..I don’t want to bore you with the details but mainly some say these people risked life and limb to get away from their country..thats how bad the situation in their country is – so we should give them citizenship and help them integrate others say we end up supporting them from our taxes etc etc and also unfortunately some people out of fear of the unknown and ignorance are being racist..these immigrants are usually dark.
So as I looked around the bus I realised Maltese people were no longer the majority but more like an equal sector of a very mixed drink..
Anyway my point is how do you think people will handle the change..?
Personally I’m all for integration..we must face facts Malta cannot remain the same Malta it was 10 years ago especially with our making part of the European union
Change is good..
Diversity is beautiful
My only concession being that lately there has been the issue of whether crucifixes should be removed from classrooms..with all the foreigners within schools..I say absolutely not..not because I’m very devout or anything like that because its quite the opposite, you could probably call me agnostic at this point but foreigners integrating into Maltese society should be the ones to change..now I’m not saying they must convert to Roman Catholicism – not at all..but they can’t expect us to change either?
On a lighter note..celebrations will continue this weekend as we continue to unwind so I’ll leave you with a Cosmo…
