In all honesty, I’m getting bored of vintage. I have some great pieces I’ve picked up here and there, and I love classic menswear items like blazers and ties (especially bow-ties), and you can’t go wrong with good tailoring. But we’ve been stuck in the past too long and I love some of the more fresh and contemporary (I hate the term ‘futuristic’) things that are coming out at the moment. I think American Apparel straddles the two brilliantly, but then so does everyone else, haha. I guess my basic style is to take classic items like brogues or blazers and mix them up with something shiny and new and something a bit different and scruffy and see what the overall effect is. Oh and I love anything that makes me think of hot weather – sunglasses, flip-flops… they make me feel better even if it’s raining.
