Just messing around with lamps as a main light source, just playing around after a long day of shooting ebay. Oh I cannot wait to be done getting rid of this Lullie inventory!

I’m scheduled to shoot some models this weekend—-yay!

I’M SELLING ON EBAY RIGHT NOW:
http://stores.ebay.com/LULLIE-VINTAGE-CLOTHING

FOR BIGGER VERSIONS OF THESE PHOTOS: www.everythingstyle.com

I have some models booked and I am so excited to experiment with my new lens and filters I just bought! I just got a MUCH better lens and a filter screw on holder with about 6 different filters. I LOVE playing with these! So for these shots, I was just testing out a few different backdrops I put together for one of my shoots with a model. I used 2 filters and natural light coming from the window. I wanted to see what you all think of them and what could be better or changed for my REAL shoot using the models in this location.

I wanted to get more light on the face, but I was having trouble getting it from the reflector I have. I have a white reflector which may have been too soft, should I try using one of the silver reflectors? Will a silver reflector give me more light on the face? For the shot below, I am very unsatisfied with it…I am not sure what it is about the shot that I am not happy with. Maybe the costume, I am not sure. I will definitely be tweaking that shot.

Well I hope you are all doing great! I will post the photos from my upcoming shoots, as soon as I take them!

xoxo,
Shae

SELLING ON EBAY RIGHT NOW:

FOR BIGGER VERSIONS OF THESE PHOTOS: www.everythingstyle.com

I’ve been sick all day today so I didn’t get to list the 40 items of clothing on ebay, like I had planned. I rang my sister in law who lives uptown and asked if I could go up there and take a bath and just hang out at their place all day. That was just what the doctor ordered! I got to watch Beauty & The Beast with my gorgeous 2.5 year old Niece Sakura. I forgot how great that movie is! When I came home tonight, I decided to start working on my scrap book journal that I have to put together for the portfolio to get into Photography school. The first page collage I am working on had to do with Petals and flowers. I decided to put on some teal eye shadow and no other makeup and shoot myself in my living room with the petal body suit I made recently. I used some filters and had my f-stop pushed all the way down to 1.4. Brining it down that low is part what I love about my new lens…which is a Nikkor A F – S lens 50mm. It works really well in low light. The only thing I don’t like is that it is not a telephoto, it is a fixed lens. I wasn’t sure if that would be a good idea, but so far I like it. It will allow me to do photos with blurred backgrounds too, which I am soooooo excited about trying out!

Well, I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!

xoxo,
Shae

Hey everyone!

The lighting was really bad for me today :( I went out for a walk with Waylon, and it was around 6pm. The lighting was sooooo dark that I had my aperture set to super low, like 30 or something, and my F stop was at around 5. So, what do you do when it’s 6 in the evening and you need more light? Would the reflector have worked a lot in this situation?

Or is the solution, simply NOT shooting after a certain time. I didn’t want to use a flash…so the pictures got blown out a lot. Hmmm…. I’m thinking about applying to school maybe…or taking some classes very soon. I just get frustrated with having all these ideas in my mind, about what I want something to look like, and not knowing how to make it look like that. Ahhh the joys of being new to something, haha! I look forward to the day when I actually know what is going on! Sorry the pics are blown out, oh well, it’s a memory of me and Waylon I now I have forever on file.

xoxo,
Shae

Hello dolls!
How have you all been? I have been doing great. I am going back to Nyc today. It has been so nice being here, I love visiting my folks who live 60 miles outside of Nyc! They have a house full of antiques, vintage and space to shoot in. In Nyc, my husband and I live in the TINIEST apartment ever, so I am definitely going to have to travel for location shooting. I am not even sure how to get indoor shots in the city, I am going to have to get creative and be gutsy and ask people if I can shoot in their place. :/ How do you photographers out there get people to let you shoot at their location, like a cool lobby in a hotel or a restaurant? Are places like that pretty nice about letting students shoot or do they have to get paid to say yes? ;)

I’ve been trying to take a ton of photos to figure out all that I have been reading about in books about lighting etc…and I am really trying to make each shoot different from the next. I don’t know what my style is going to end up being, or if it will always be changing…but I am just trying to be open at the minute.

Well, I am going to go pack up and say goodbye to my mom. Hope you guys are doing great.

xoxo,
Shae
