’ve always seen myself as a dichotomy, a whole set of two parts that complete rather than contradict each other. For years I have been bumping into a reality I didn’t feel I belonged to, in which everything was either black or white, male or female, this or that. I didn’t feel like any social or cultural standard would represent me: even the world of fashion – which is apparently so open to androgyny – would always got me choosing between womenswear and menswear. So one day I have stopped questioning and I have started following my instincts, taking a risk, even in the way I dressed: I would choose garments that would fit me well and make me happy, because I think that style is the art of being yourself.
This is why I have decided to start “The Ladyboy”, a blogzine that would join the personal side of a blog with the academic nature of a magazine. It was the only possible way I could express myself, always bridging between two worlds, two sexes, two souls. It is an invitation to light-heartedness, to beauty, and to be oneself; because the world looks much more simple and organized if we split it into two different categories, but there’s a whole, wonderful universe in between that I would like to tell you.
This is The Ladyboy.
I hope you like it.
