Fashion is everywhere these days – TV shows, blogs, even smart phone apps. And hey, remember magazines? It all seems so glamorous, doesn’t it? Tall, thin people. Flowing, shiny hair. Expensive clothes. Five inch heels navigating cobblestone streets. How do they do it? More importantly, how do we?
Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I moved to Boston in January 2005. I’ve never lived in New York, Milan or Paris, but I have lived in Chicago, Green Bay and Berlin, and I can tell you that fashion is everywhere. Sometimes we might carry our heels in our bag when we have to walk ten blocks. We might choose to buy a $20 tee shirt instead of one for $200. But we all want to look and feel amazing in our clothes, and, gosh darn it, I think we can!
I post outfits almost every weekday. Like you, some days I knock it out of the park. Some days I strike out. But I am glad you’re sharing my style journey, and I hope you can find some inspiration along the way.
I also post about the fashion entrepreneurs right in our backyard. You know, the cool, local designer creating a buzz. The new boutique from which you can’t stay away. The next thing in fashion – not straight off the Paris runway, but from people like us.
Sometimes I post about brands that I like. And, sometimes, brands will send me gifts or provide me a product to review. Yes, it sounds cool, but believe me, I’m certainly not building a wardrobe with gifted clothes! I will always note when I have received an item from a company, or if I have been compensated in any way for a post. I only write about positive experiences (there is enough negativity out there on the internet already), so if I review a product and don’t like it, I just don’t write about it.
I am an administrator at a basic scientific research department at a Boston area university. I am married, have three cats, and I firmly believe the most chic thing you can possess is good manners.
