I am a moderately eccentric dresser, and an extremely impractical shopper. My habit of buying inspiring things THEN building an outfit around it is not exactly cost efficiant. Sometimes the inspiring thing isn’t even an article of clothing, lets say I’m browsing the flee market and I see this amazing grandfather clock with carvings, gold on black inlays, the works, I’m suddenly inspired to style a black/gold outfit with baroque prints! For me, inspiration comes often and randomly (Wether it’s from watching the John Adams miniseries, cover illustration for a book, an episode of X-files, or a painting by an amature artist in a national park). But when I get inspired, I’m hell bent on churning out the perfect outfit!
